New information about Apple’s A9 SoC found in iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus
During the official announcement of the new iPhone models, Apple didn’t really give out much information about the new 64-bit A9 SoC. All we knew until now was that it has new architecture, as well as a new M9 coprocessor and according to Apple it should provide up to 70% higher computing and up to 90% better graphics performance, compared to its predecessor.
Now, however, unconfirmed information states, that the A9 SoC has not two, but four cores that will be separated in two clusters. The first one will be clocked at 1.7 GHz while the second ticks at 1.2 GHz. There is also a remark of 2GB of RAM available, but we will wait for an official confirmation. Anyway, if it’s true, it means that Apple is striving to be at the top of the performance race.
