Prices of DRAM sticks continue to rise

It seems that 2017 will not be the year in which we shall witness a decrease in the prices of DRAM modules. The president of Nanya Technology (a manufacturer of DRAM sticks) said that in Q2 of 2017 the prices of the products in question are expected to grow even more but could stabilize toward the end of this year.

Additionally, the main reason for this phenomenon seems to be the not so high supply of the goods. For example, the above-mentioned company, Nanya is in the process of moving to a 20nm manufacturing process which leads to a lower output of their current 30nm units. Of course, the waiting should be worth it since the newest manufacturing technology should provide performance of a whole new level.
