Qualcomm officially announced Snapdragon 821 – 10% more powerful than Snapdragon 820
Qualcomm announced a new high-end mobile CPU. It’s name is Snapdragon 821 and according to the manufacturer this is not going to be a successor to Snapdragon 820 but a new member of the big family.
Snapdragon 821 will also feature four Kryo cores ticking at 2.4 GHz, and not at 2.1 GHz as it was the case with Snapdragon 820. The GPU remains Adreno 530 but this time it has a slightly higher frequency. Additionally, Qualcomm claims that all this will contribute to 10% higher performance.
Other than that, the cores are arranged in two groups again – two more powerful and two more energy efficient. While the latter in Snapdragon 820 had a frequency of 1.6 GHz, in Snapdragon 821 this group may reach 1.8 GHz and even 2.0 GHz. We are still expecting official information about this new chip.
