Most probably Qualcomm is trying to prepare the Snapdragon 836 in time for the new Pixel smartphone, and in the meantime, we learned from Chinese social media that the Adreno 6xx GPU series might be ready in the beginning of next year with at least 25% increase in performance compared to Adreno 512 in Snapdragon 660.
The entire chipset is expected to go under the name Snapdragon 670 and be released in the first quarter of 2018.
It is said to feature an 8-core CPU – it will consist of a dual-core Kryo 360 and six lower-intensity Kryo cores. Such a design looks similar to ARM’s Cortex-A75 and Cortex-A55. This is the first 600 series of Snapdragon which will be manufactured by Samsung through their 10nm technological process – 660 uses a 14nm process with Kryo 260 cores.
