Samsung’s enormous Galaxy View tablet makes it way to the US market and pops up in Europe as well
The name of the latest Samsung tablet reveals it all. Galaxy View is a multimedia-centric tablet with a huge 18.4-inch screen (bigger than the conventional notebooks nowadays) with powerful speakers and a 5700 mAh battery to keep the show running for longer periods of time.
For starters, the 18-inch screen packs a Full HD (1920×1080) resolution, Exynos 7580 SoC including an octa-core 1.6 GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory and Mali-T720MP2 GPU taking care of the graphically intensive tasks. Also, the tablet has only one front-facing camera with 2.1MP resolution that will serve well for video calls, a built-in stand on the back for better positioning and a handle for carrying around the house more easily.
The connectivity options include GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 while cellular support will come later in the US and Europe. The large 5700 mAh battery promises up to 8 hours of Wi-Fi browsing and 299 hours of music playback. However, all of this nifty hardware comes at $599 in the US while the device sells for €649 in Europe (Belgium).
