The Acer Switch 3 (SW312-31) display uses PWM for all brightness levels except for the maximum one

The Acer Switch 3 (SW312-31) has undergone several tests the results of which were rather disturbing. The panel uses pulse-width modulation for regulating the brightness of the screen resulting in the so-called screen flickering effect for all brightness levels except for the maximum one.

However, on a more positive note, the display flickers at high frequencies (20 kHz) so this will affect only users with extra sensitive eyes. Of course, if this happens to be an issue for you, we have a solution to the problem and it is our Health-Guard profile, which eliminates PWM and also reduces the negative blue light emissions.
