The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 Makes an Appearance in Our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, Taking the #56 Spot

The Top Laptop CPU Ranking offers tons of insights into how the CPU landscape looks, as it’s got entries from all the major manufacturers, including AMD and Intel, as well as the up-and-comers, like Apple Silicon and their M-series SoCs and the Snapdragon X-series from Qualcomm.

Currently, we’ve got both the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Ryzen AI 9 365 in our Ranking, taking #29 and #56, respectively. Today we’re mostly focusing on the Ryzen AI 9 365. Looking at the CPUs around it, we find some pretty powerful SKUs: the Ryzen 9 6980HX and the Ryzen 9 6980HS. Both carry 8 cores and 16 threads, but with a base power limit of 45W, they are able to catch up to the 10 cores of the Ryzen AI 9 365.

CPU Performance Comparison

The Cinebench R23 and Cinebench 2024 benchmarks clearly show the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 outperforming the Ryzen AI 9 365 by 19% in R23 and 12% in Cinebench 2024. Both laptops tested are ASUS Zenbook S 16, making this a direct comparison of CPU capabilities.

GPU Performance comparison

In terms of GPU performance, the AMD Radeon 890M found in the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 beats the Radeon 880M from the Ryzen AI 9 365 by 15%, as measured by the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Unlimited benchmark. This difference highlights the increased graphical power of the 890M in demanding tasks.
