The new HP Omen X 2S series – that happens when you cross a Nintendo 3DS and a monster

HP Headquarters, not a long time ago: “Nintendo 3DS is one of the most successful gaming systems ever. What if we make it bigger and put an RTX 2080 in it?”

We’re not sure whether this is the idea behind HP Omen X 2S but we definitely like the outcome – 15.6-inch IPS display with 240 Hz refresh rate, additional 5.98-inch screen for notifications during gaming (or even performance tweaking), GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GDDR6 (Max-Q) and Intel Core i9-9880H.

HP Omen X 2S is not just ultra-powerful, it comes with an ultra-thin chassis too – the thickness of its body is just 20 mm (0.78″) and it weighs 2.35 kg.

Despite the size of the notebook, HP says that its Omen Tempest cooling system handles the powerful components without issues, thanks to two 12V fans, multiple thick heat pipes, and multiple air intake and air exhaust openings.

The expected starting price is $2099.99 as the initial plans are for launch in June.
