ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) review – a gaming laptop disguised in a suit
Design and construction
Unsurprisingly, this notebook’s body is made out of aluminum. It is pretty strong, as we observed zero flex from the lid and only a tiny amount in the chassis. Why is the lid stronger than the base, you would ask? Well, that’s because the display is protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass.
Dimensions-wise, the laptop has a thickness of 17.9mm and weighs only 1.60 kg. It is going to be really interesting how the performance values will stack up against these fascinating dimensions.
Here, the lid can be opened with one hand and opens to an angle of about 135°. The glossy display is surrounded by super slim bezels, with the top one featuring a Full HD Web camera that has an IR face recognition scanner beside it.
Moving to the base, we are surprised to see that the ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 OLED (UX6404) lacks the signature ErgoLift mechanism that lifts the backside from the ground. Apparently, the tall back feet do a sufficient job of providing enough cool air to the fans.
In terms of comfort, the keyboard is great. You get a backlight, long key travel, and clicky feedback. The only shortcoming, in our view, is the small size of the Arrow keys.
On the other hand, the touchpad is the real deal. It features a glass surface, which makes tracking extremely accurate and smooth. In addition, it has the DialPad built in its top left corner. It is enabled by swiping the other top corner inwards and gives you more precise control over timeline scrubbing, volume control, and whatever comes to your mind.
Now, if we turn the laptop upside down, we will find the two speaker cutouts, as well as the ventilation grill. Hot air is then being exhausted through two vents on the back, and one on each side of the notebook.
Ports
On the left side of the device, you will find the power plug, an HDMI 2.1 FRL connector, a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, and an Audio jack. Then, the right side houses a Thunderbolt 4 connector, a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port with Power Delivery and DisplayPort output, as well as a full-sized SD card slot.

Si on insert une carte SD dans l’appareil, elle sort de beaucoup ?
Peut-on imaginer la laisser en permanence ?
Bonjour,
Quand vous avez réalisé le test, est ce que l’ordinateur a fait des grésillement et des bruits aiguës ? Car ça fait deux, de ce modèle que je commande et je me demande si c’est normal ou pas, du coup. Je n’ai jamais eu d’ordinateur qui font ces bruits.
