Lenovo Tab P12 (TB370FU) review – great build quality and 3K display

    Verdict

If you are on the hunt for a big-screen tablet that doesn’t cost a fortune, the Lenovo Tab P12 (TB370FU) should possibly be on your shortlist. The device has a sharp 12.7″ IPS display with punchy colors that offers detailed picture quality. We watched some 4K YouTube videos on the big screen of the Lenovo machine and they look great thanks to the quality high-res panel.

The build feels solid, the back is made of metal and we didn’t observe any bends or squeaky noises while trying to bend the device a bit. The quad JBL speakers sound good and the maximum volume is on the high side.

The pictures that we take using both cameras are okay for a tablet. The back is an 8MP snapper that can also record 1080p 30FPS video (but the quality is below average) while the front one is able to capture 4K clips that looked detailed for a tablet.

The device isn’t bloated with unnecessary software. The interface feels almost like using a stock Android which is good. There are some preinstalled Lenovo apps that you can use but they aren’t many. Extras like Reading Mode and Night Light can be useful for people who like to read a lot.

The Floating Windows and the Split Screen functions should be a gem for users who like to multitask. The added PC Mode is another useful feature when connecting a big external display. The Lenovo Freestyle function is the main event here because, with the aid of this smart extra, you can connect together your computer and tablet. So you can control the Android apps using the PC or you can use the Lenovo Tab P12 screen as a second display.

The performance of the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 is reasonable. The Lenovo product feels snappy for daily tasks such as Web browsing, viewing social network content, watching 4K YouTube videos, etc.  You can also play heavy games like Asphalt 9. Yes, we tried some gaming and the mentioned title can be experienced without stuttering or other issues that can ruin the fun.

Comfort during heavy load is good, the back side of the tablet is reasonably cool for holding it with both hands without feeling unpleasant heat under your fingers. In short, the Lenovo Tab P12 (TB370FU) is a well-built tablet, with a high-res 3K IPS screen. The used chipset is fast enough for normal usage and having fun with some games.
