Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Yoga Gen 3 review – this is one fantastic little business convertible

Design and construction

This notebook’s body panels are entirely made out of aluminum. This makes the device pretty rigid and resistant to flex. Especially since the display is protected by Gorilla Glass, which is another flex-resistant material.

The machine itself weighs 1.50 kg, which is not too bad, considering its form factor. Moreover, it has a profile of only 16.9mm. This makes it pretty easy to grip in your hands, and as a bonus – it takes little space inside your bag.

This notebook’s lid can be opened with one hand, which is pretty rare for convertibles. Since it has a 16:9 aspect ratio, the display comes with a very thick bottom bezel, while the rest are on the slim side. On the bright side, there is a 720p (or an optional 1080p) Web camera with a privacy shutter above the display.

Do you know what is one of the best features of business laptops? Most of them (especially those from Lenovo) come with a spill-resistant keyboard. This one also has a backlight, decent key travel, and clicky feedback, all of which resemble one of the best business convertible keyboards on the market.

On the other hand, the touchpad has a size of 70 by 105 mm and sports a Mylar surface. Glass would have been better, but this one is not half bad either. The clicking mechanism is quite fast to respond, which is pretty satisfying.

Now, moving to the bottom panel, we see the two 2W speaker cutouts. In addition, there is the cool air vent, while the hot air escapes through a grill on the back of the device.

Ports

On the left side, there is a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port with Power Delivery 3.0 DisplayPort 1.4 capabilities. It is followed by a Thunderbolt 4 connector, an HDMI 2.0 (although it says 2.1 on the official page), a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and an Audio jack. Then, on the right, you get a Kensington lock slot, a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, a MicroSD card slot, the tactile Power button, and a garage for the dedicated stylus.
