AMD Radeon HD 8690M, is a graphics chip announced on November 16, 2012. It is part of the GCN (Graphics Core Next) generation, constructed through a 28nm process and has 320 Radeon cores, aided by 20 texture cores and 8 raster cores.
Their base frequency is 775MHz, and if the laptop’s cooling facilities allow it, Turbo clock can increase that up to 825MHz.
Radeon HD8690M has a 64bit bus and is available with either 1GB or 2GB of GDDR5 memory. The Enduro technology, which switches between discreet and integrated graphics, is also available. When the latter is disabled, Eyefinitiy comes into play. HD8690M also supports DirectX 11.1 and Shader 5.0.
