[FPS Benchmarks] Dota 2 on NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [40W and 50W] – suitable for gaming on a 144 Hz display
Dota 2 and NVIDIA GTX 1650 – one of the most popular games since its debut in 2013 up to date and a common mid-range video card that is widely available in a lot of gaming machines. As with many modern GPUs, the GeForce GTX 1650 has different variants – the most significant difference is the TGP – you can find it as a 40W and a 50W GPU. Earlier this year NVIDIA refreshed the GTX 1650 with a low-power GDDR6 memory.
For today’s comparison, we’ve picked the two TGP variants – the 40W GTX 1650 has 896 shaders and GDDR6 memory, while the old one is configured with GDDR5 but at the same time, it has 1024 shaders. You can have a look at our detailed dedicated articles regarding the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] and GeForce GTX 1650 [50W]. Without further ado, let’s see which one is faster when it comes to Dota 2.

Verdict
Interestingly enough, the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] has the upper hand in Low, Medium, and High settings. While the GeForce GTX 1650 [50W] is a bit faster (3%) when it comes to Ultra settings. This was a bit of a surprise for us because the 50W version has a bigger TGP (its core boosts higher than the 40W version) and more CUDA cores. Probably Dota 2 “likes” the low-power GDDR6 memory (perhaps it has different timing as well) that the GeForce GTX 1650 [40W] has.
Both video cards are suitable for gaming on a 144Hz display (right now we are talking about Dota 2 only) but the 40W variant is a bit better choice when it comes to performance.
