[FPS Benchmarks] Death Stranding on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W) and RTX 3070 Ti (150W) – almost equal performance

Death Stranding is a Kojima Productions game that has been ported to PC in 2020. The title is set in the USA after a big cataclysm – this caused hostile creatures to roam the Earth. The protagonist in the game is called Sam Porter Bridges and his task is to deliver supplies to different colonies and provide them with a wireless communications network.

Visually, Death Stranding looks good and it seems that the optimization is great given the fact that it’s a console port. The title isn’t heavy at all – a GPU like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti [Laptop, 95W] is enough for almost 100 FPS on Very High Quality. For this comparison, we’re going to examine the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W) and RTX 3070 Ti (150W).

    Verdict

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (150W) and RTX 3070 Ti (150W) are both based on the GA104 ship and they both have equal ROP count – still, the bigger GPU has a slight advantage In terms of CUDA cores. That’s why in some games like Death Stranding these GPUs can show almost equal performance and in our case, the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti [150W] is even 3% faster on average. Of course, these results can vary from device to device and the scores depend on the other hardware as well like the CPU.
