[Specs and Info] ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip OLED (TP3604 / TN3604) – Tablet use might get tricky

A 16-inch convertible with Raptor Lake H-series components sounds pretty good on paper. However, how do you use a heavier device like this, especially in tablet mode? Nevertheless, the ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip OLED (TP3604 / TN3604) is a powerful device with plenty of value, even if you don’t factor in the convertible aspect. The touchscreen aspect can also be implemented in your workflow without having to hold the device in hand and having another way of input for the laptop can be great to diversify and improve the user experience.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip OLED (TP3604 / TN3604).

ASUS Vivobook S 16 Flip OLED (TP3604 / TN3604): Full Specs

Design

All Vivobooks come with great designs and the Vivobook S 16 Flip OLED is no exception. The device comes in two colors, either Midnight Black or Cool Silver. It features a metallic lid, while the rest of the chassis is made of plastic. ASUS is trying to make the laptop appear thinner than ever, by having the bottom panel get slimmer at the edges. It works, leaving a laptop that’s just 19.7 mm and weighs only 1.90 kg. Looking at the top bezel, we see an array of sensors, including the FHD webcam and an Ambient light sensor, which automatically adjusts color temperature for a better viewing experience, depending on how the lighting conditions are around you.

On the other hand, the laptop has some chunkier parts, which house the I/O. In terms of ports, you get one USB Type-A 2.0 port, one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The laptop comes with two display options, either e Full HD+ IPS display with 300 nits at peak brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate, and around 50% sRGB coverage. The OLED display is the one you should gun for, which has a higher 3.2K resolution, and a peak brightness of 400 nits, reaching 500 nits in HDR mode. It also covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut, so if you’re looking for a Creator laptop, this one might be for you.

Specifications and features

The laptop comes with both Intel and AMD hardware, with the Raptor Lake H-series and the Ryzen 7000 U-series. As you can see, there will be a significant power mismatch between the two. First of all, the AMD CPUs use the Zen 3 architecture from 2021. You can pick between the Ryzen 5 7530U and the Ryzen 7 7730U, both of which are just fancier versions of the Ryzen 5 5600U and Ryzen 7 5800U. On the Intel side, we have brand new 13th Gen CPUs, including the Core i5-13500H, the Core i7-13700H, and the Core i9-13900H. These are very fast processors that run circles around AMD’s units that are available right now. For graphics, you only rely on integrated stuff, with either the RX Vega graphics or the Iris Xe Graphics G7.
