[Specs and Info] The Lenovo ThinkBook 13x is a feature packed, portable ultrabook

The ThinkBook brand keeps killing it, delivering great notebooks, with adequate performance and beautiful designs. The ThinkBook 13x is the latest of the bunch coming packed with vPro certified Tiger Lake CPUs and a plethora of features. The ThinkBook brand takes the features, build quality, and stability of the ThinkPad brand, and gives it premium materials and a more appealing exterior, in order to capture the minds (and wallets) of the consumers.

Today we are taking a quick look at the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x.

Lenovo ThinkBook 13x: Full Specs

Design

Sticking on the theme of premium materials, the ThinkBook 13x is entirely made of metal, with aluminum for the lid and a magnesium/aluminum alloy for the base and bottom panel, which is high on the materials pyramid. The lid and base also have a sandblasted anodized finish, which gives them a matte appearance, limiting the number of smudges and fingerprints. The lid is split horizontally and has a two-tone finish. There are two colors to choose from, either Cloud grey or Storm grey. In terms of weight and height, the laptop comes in at 1.13 kg and 12.9 mm, respectively, which is incredibly lightweight.

Display

The laptop comes with two display choices. Both of them are identical, with the only difference being that one of them has touchscreen support and the other doesnt. Otherwise, the display has QHD+ reoslution, meaning a 16:10 aspect ratio, uses an IPS panel, has a max brightness of 400 nits, a contrast ratio of 1200:1, and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Regardless of what you pick, you also get a Gorilla Glass cover and Dolby Vision support, along with a anti-fingerprint coating.

Specifications and features

The specs are very simplified, offering only two CPU options with their own respective iGPU offerings. Both of them are part of the Tiger Lake U-series and have a TDP of only 15W. They are also vPro certified, meaning that on theory, they should have higher stability and performance. The entry configuration has the Core i5-1130G7, with the Core i7-1160G7 also being available.

Features-wise, the I/O is pretty lacking, consisting on only two Thunderbolt 4 ports and one 3.5 mm audio jack. Furthermore, you get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support. In traditional ThinkPad fashion, you have a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, along with a Mylar-surfaced touchpad, with Precision Touchpad (PTP) support. The audio is on a very high level with a Four Array Microphone setup and 360° Near Field coverage, along with a Stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, which are actually provided by Harman, a well-known name in the audio space.
