Acer Aspire Vero (AV15-52): Full Specs

Design

The laptop looks identical to last year’s model, but this time we have an additional black color, which looks good on the recycled plastic shell. The speckles are here to stay as well, which gives the device a lot of character. According to Acer, the Aspire Vero uses up to 30% post-consumer recycled plastic which saves about 21% CO2 emissions. Acer also brags about the laptop being easy to take apart, for upgrading and repairs, but doesn’t show us anything. In terms of portability, the laptop comes in at a weight of 1.76 kg and has a profile of 17.9 mm.

Display

The display on the front comes with an FHD resolution and an IPS panel. Despite that, we have nothing else like brightness, contrast ratio, or color coverage. Acer really needs to step up its game, as competitors like Lenovo, HP, and Dell offer more detailed specs for their laptops for the general consumer to see, before making a decision on what to purchase.

Specifications and features

The laptop has two processors to choose from, with either the Core i5-1235U or the Core i7-1255U. These CPUs are good for short bursts of work, where the P-cores really shine, spiking up their clock speeds quickly. In some cases, the CPUs go way above their 15W TDP, going as high as 28W or 30W. For graphics, you can rely on the Iris Xe Graphics, which are good options for daily use, as well as some productivity work.

In terms of I/O, the laptop carries a total of three USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) ports, one Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
