[Specs, Info, and Prices] Dell Precision 14 3470 – A bit thicker, but we don’t judge
Dell’s workstations are pretty up there when it comes to quality. The Precision lineup takes care of that part of Dell’s portfolio, offering both thin and light options, as well as some bulkier notebooks, which put performance first and portability second.
Today, however, we have a combination of both. The Dell Precision 14 3470 uses the portable 14-inch form factor, however, looking at images, it doesn’t look like the thinnest laptop out there, not by a long shot.
Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Dell Precision 14 3470.
The Dell Precision 14 3470 is available now for a starting price of $1,479.
Dell Precision 14 3470: Full Specs
Dell Precision 3470
- Intel Core i5-1250P
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (80EU)
- 16GB RAM
- 256GB SSD
Dell doesn’t specify what materials it has used for the notebook, but with such a hefty price tag, we would expect to see a metal lid at the minimum. With a thicker chassis of 23.60 mm, durability should also be pretty good. The laptop weighs in at 1.49 kg, which is pretty good for a 14-inch device. The design is alright, with silver color and a Dell logo on the lid. Generally, it’s nothing we haven’t seen before.
On the front, we have a FHD IPS display with a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. However, the panel comes with either 250, 300, or 400 nits of brightness. The brighter option might also come with good color coverage, but Dell gives no information, as always.
Specifications and features
The hardware selection includes Alder Lake P-series processors, which is totally the right move when talking about smaller laptops. The laptop is offered with the Core i5-1250P, Core i7-1260P, and Core i7-1270P, all of which can go past their 28W TDP, which means extra performance when good cooling is present. For graphics, there is the integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7, as well as one discrete option: the NVIDIA Quadro T550. It’s based on the Turing architecture, sharing the same GPU die as the GTX 1650.
The I/O is an area where the laptop is stacked, offering two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card reader, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. There are some optional features, like a fingerprint reader or a SmartCard reader.
