Design
The consensus in the tech community so far is that Samsung manages to make pretty good-looking devices, regardless of the market. The Galaxy Book Pro definitely meets the standards for being considered premium, with a metal chassis. It comes in either Graphite or Beige and is incredibly light for a 16-inch machine, weighing only 1.66 kg and having a profile of 12.7 mm. The 360-degree hinge makes the laptop fold just like a tablet, which works especially well with the S Pen that’s provided with the notebook.
The port selection consists of one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 2) port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The keyboard is backlit as well as a fingerprint reader, and an FHD webcam.
Display
The Galaxy Book has a 16-inch AMOLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2880 x 1800p. We expect good color coverage and accuracy out of it, as well as high brightness, however, Samsung doesn’t give any of that information away.
Specifications and features
The laptop is powered by the Core i7-1360P, a 12-core CPU from the new Raptor Lake family from Intel. If it’s anything like the Core i7-1260P, you can expect a powerful CPU that can handle complex video edits. It also includes the Iris Xe Graphics G7, which has good encoding capabilities, for extra help when video rendering. Despite using a 16-inch chassis, the Galaxy Book uses bottom-firing speakers. They are tuned by AKG, a subsidiary of Samsung.
