Acer Swift 3 (SF314-55)’s display is relatively safe for your eyes

The results from our laboratory tests of the new Acer Swift 3 (SF314-55) are already out and you can read everything in our in-depth review. However, if you’re mostly interested in its display panel and the health impact of using it, here’s our conclusion.

Acer Swift 3 (SF314-55) is safe for work through the day as there’s no screen flickering for brightness levels above 80 cd/m2 (~140 nits brightness is the standard for design work while brightness set at ~200 nits is a comfortable level for usage in a well-lit room).

However, if you’re planning to use Swift 3 through the evenings/nights, have in mind that it uses PWM below 80 cd/m2 (16%). The good news is that the frequency is pretty high – 25 kHz.
