Intel Jasper Lake: Quick look at the latest Intel Pentium and Celeron CPUs for budget laptops
Although Intel has been on the losing end of the things in terms of CPU power in the last couple of years, they still do not fail to put out innovations and they are always trying to compete. Recently, information about the upcoming lineup has been revealed.
They are being built on the 10nm process and they feature a low-power version of the new 11th Generation iGPU. The chips which are made for mobile devices have a TDP rated at 6W. However, they lack the hyperthreading technology.
There are six different chips that are part of the Jasper Lake lineup. The mobile line is as follows: Pentium Silver N6000, Celeron N5100, and Celeron N4500, and here are their specifications:
Intel Pentium Silver N6000 | Intel Celeron N5100 | Intel Celeron N4500 | |
Cores / Threads | 4 / 4 | 4 / 4 | 2 / 2 |
Base / Max frequency | 1.10GHz / 3.10Ghz | 1.10GHz / 2.80GHz | 1.10GHz / 2.90GHz |
Cache | 4MB | 4MB | 4MB |
Memory Support | DDR4-3200 LPDDR4X-4266 | DDR4-3200 LPDDR4X-4266 | DDR4-3200 |
We are excited to see what Intel brings to the table with these new CPUs and how are they going to compete against other chips in the same class. These new CPUs will be useful for people that do not expect huge performance and use their machines for casual browsing.
In fact, we expect them to be mainly used for inexpensive laptops and Chromebooks. What is more, we are also excited to see how the chips with 6W TDPs compare against one another and which is the best possible option for a processor of this type.
When these processors become available they will be part of our Top Laptop CPU Ranking.
