ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602) review – an office device with an OLED display

    Verdict

So, ASUS is finally unleashing what it’s got on the business market. The ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602) is a pretty powerful device, full of security and privacy enhancements like an IR face recognition scanner, and a fingerprint reader.

Its input devices are amazing, especially the huge touchpad, which will definitely be an eye-grabber for your colleagues. In addition to that, you get a good port selection, and a decent slot selection – 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, a MicroSD card slot, a SODIMM slot, and two M.2 PCIe x4 slots, which fit Gen 4 SSDs, and support RAID mode.

At the same time, with up to 13 hours of Web browsing, you will be able to do an entire workday’s worth of light tasks.

ASUS ExpertBook B5 OLED (B5602)’s display has a 4K resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a mathematically infinite contrast ratio. It has extremely quick pixel response times and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Not only does this provide a very attractive image to look at, but also offers pretty good color accuracy.

You should keep in mind that this panel uses PWM for brightness adjustment. Thankfully, there is a function inside the MyASUS app, which essentially fixes the issue.

One thing that is unfixable by any software is the high glossiness of the panel. It is much needed for OLED displays, but it doesn’t do a great job for outdoor work. Also, we didn’t fancy the dedicated Intel Arc A350M GPU. In our opinion, if ASUS wanted this device to be competitive, it really had to use NVIDIA GPUs.

Anyways, as you can imagine, this device’s positives are much more than its negatives. This makes it a very good choice for medium-to-high-level enterprise users.
