HP ProBook 450 G10 review – only a refresh but still one of the best
Design and construction
If you are familiar with the ProBook 450 G9, this part will be a bit boring for you. This year’s model also comes in an all-aluminum body, which is relatively strong in terms of rigidity and flex resistance.
It has a profile of 19.9mm, while the weight starts from 1.74 kg for the models equipped with a 42Wh battery pack, and goes up to 1.79 kg for those, featuring the 51Wh unit. Ultimately, the design is pretty comfortable for work, as the sloped front sides make an edge with a smaller angle. This ensures you won’t hurt your wrists if you need to type something for a really long time – like an article or a review of the HP ProBook 450 G10.
Interestingly, the lid can still be opened with one hand. Once you do that, it will reveal rather thin bezels all around the matte display. Up top, you get either an HD Web camera or a 5MP one that is paired with an IR face recognition scanner. There is a privacy shutter too.
Moving to the base, we see a grill, which hides the two speakers. It is placed above the backlit, spill-resistant keyboard that sports a NumberPad. Ultimately, this is a great product, which has long key travel, and clicky feedback. The only downside we found is the size of the “Up” and “Down” Arrow keys.
Further down below, there is the touchpad. It has a rather smooth surface, even though HP doesn’t disclose if it is using plastic or glass for this unit. In addition, the tracking is good, the response – fast, and the clicking mechanism feels firm, yet dependable. By the way, some models will feature a fingerprint reader, placed under the right “Enter” key.
Since the speakers are firing toward the user, the bottom panel only houses the ventilation grill. Hot air, respectively, is being blown out of the device through a vent in the back of the base.
Ports
On the left side, there is a security lock slot, a LAN port, and a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port. Then on the right, you get the power plug, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, an HDMI 2.1 (no info about the type), an Audio jack, and an optional Nano SIM card slot.

Thanks for review
Could you please clarify – Is there any flex on typing like for Dell Vostro 3530? Or base is solid ?
Thanks!
