MSI Bravo 15 C7U review – well-performing device with good cooling and refreshed Zen 3+ CPUs

Good budget gaming laptops are a rare find nowadays. These kinds of machines still exist but they are slowly being replaced by devices with not-so-powerful hardware and a high price for the class. Not all hope is gone, we got the MSI Bravo 15 C7U which wants to prove that it’s a capable gaming notebook at an adequate price corresponding to the power of its internals.

We have a review of the MSI Bravo 15 C7V which is almost the same device as the one that we have in front of us except for the fact that the C7V version comes with RTX 4000 GPUs while the C7U sibling can be configured with the 6GB version of the GeForce RTX 3050 (that’s an interesting video card but we’ll talk about it more in the “Performance” section of the article) or with the 70W variant of the GeForce RTX 2050.

The used CPU platform is the same as the one that can be found in the MSI Bravo 15 C7V. Ergo, you can rely on the refreshed Zen 3+ AMD Rembrandt processors. MSI has decided to use a 1080p display with a 144Hz refresh rate which is a good complement for a laptop like this one and there is no sign of 60Hz panel variants which is nice.

The machine is loaded with other features like a 4-Zone RGB Gaming Keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and surprisingly modern upgrade options. Hey, we don’t want to write a mini review in the introduction of the article so let’s inspect the notebook step by step.
