Design and construction

The device is made of plastic which is kind of expected in this price category. The lid feels a bit flexible (we’ve seen a lot worse cases though) when we tried to twist it but it’s okay. With that out of the way, the base is stable except for the central section above the keyboard and the area between the Space key and the touchpad. The design isn’t that different than the Katana and Pulse laptops from the same brand.

When it comes to dimensions, the Bravo 15 C7U stops the scales at 2.25 kg and the profile is 24.9mm which is normal for such a machine.

You can’t be opened the lid with a single hand and that’s strange because the MSI Bravo 15 C7V lid can be “unfold” with just one hand. Never mind, the bezels are narrow excluding the “chin” and the top one houses a 720p Web camera.

The base is business as usual. There, we can see the 4-zone RGB keyboard, which can be controlled via the MSI Center app. The board has a NumPad and big Arrow keys, clicky feedback, and decent key travel.

The touchpad is smooth and accurate but it’s a bit small for a 15-incher.

The bottom plate is the natural habitat of four rubber feet, two speaker cutouts, and an enormous ventilation grille. The hot air is pushed through three vents – two are positioned on the back, and the last one is placed on the left side of the machine. This means that the hot air will not blow directly into your hand while holding the mouse during gaming (if you are a right-handed person).

Ports

On the left, you got a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and a USB Type-A 2.0 port. The right side houses a LAN port, an HDMI 2.1 connector (suitable for up to 8K 60Hz external displays), a USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port with DisplayPort function, a USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, and an Audio jack.
