[Specs and Info] The ExpertBook B14 and B15 are the latest enterprise offerings from ASUS, focusing on security, portability, and performance

ASUS made one of the biggest splashes at CES in recent years, throwing brand new or refreshed lineups left and right. We saw new devices from the ROG, ZenBook, and VivoBook lineups.

The ExpertBook lineup also got some new offerings in the faces of the B14 and B15, which are tailored for business, with powerful hardware to support an entrepreneur’s every need, and a stylish shell to look good while doing it.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the new ExpertBook B14 and B15.

You can check the detailed specs and configurations here: ASUS ExpertBook B14 / ASUS ExpertBook B15

Design

The build quality of both devices is superb, with metal being used everywhere. The metal body makes the laptops both thin and light, which is key for a business device. The design itself is quite stylish and good looking. There aren’t any weird gimmick or anything, just a good looking laptop with great build quality and fantastic portability. The B14 weighs 1.45 kg which is nearly 300 grams lighter than the B15. This coupled with the better hardware options on the B14 makes it the go-to device between the two.

Display

For the displays, there are two options, for both devices, with the only difference being the size. The B14 gets 14-inch displays, while the B15 gets 15.6-inch displays. The first option is a 1366x768p TN panel, which we believe is just not worth it and ASUS should have skipped it entirely. The second option is a Full HD IPS panel, which should already be the base variant (it’s 2021). We have no information about the color accuracy and performance of both displays, but you should expect an in-depth review when we get our hands on them.

Specifications

The specs here as the same as with any business laptop that would come out in 2021. We are talking about Tiger Lake processors for both the B14 and B15, with the B14 getting the better CPUs. The smaller device comes with up to a Core i7-1165G7, while the larger B15 can be bought with up to a Core i5-1135G7. The laptops offer different usage profiles, with the Asus Intelligent Performance tech, which allows you to switch between Performance, Balanced, and Whisper.

In terms of graphics, you get several iGPU offerings, depending on what CPU you get, with the Core i7-1165G7 getting the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (96EU). Among the features are an integrated fingerprint reader, Kensington lock slot, and ErgoLift hinge for comfortable typing.
