ASUS TUF Gaming F15 (FX507, 2023) review – higher price but better performance
Temperatures and comfort, Battery Life
Max CPU load
In this test we use 100% on the CPU cores, monitoring their frequencies and chip temperature. The first column shows a computer’s reaction to a short load (2-10 seconds), the second column simulates a serious task (between 15 and 30 seconds), and the third column is a good indicator of how good the laptop is for long loads such as video rendering.

We experienced a very weird processor behavior. It not only ran at low frequencies, but it also turned off hyperthreading for the last 5 minutes of the test. Looking at the power figures, we see 70W PL1 limit, and 35W PL2, which is nothing like what we expected with the “Turbo” preset in Armoury Crate.
Real-life gaming

On the other hand, the TUF Gaming F15 (FX507, 2023) is really competitive in the GPU field. It outperforms the MSI Katana 15 (B13V), which brought a huge improvement over its predecessor, itself.
Gaming comfort
While the laptop is pretty loud during gaming, it is definitely not near the loudest devices we’ve tested. Also, its highest temperature at the end of the test is just below 40°C. At least that’s around the keyboard. Go slightly higher, and you will see temperatures in the roundabout of 45°C (which is still not too bad).
Battery
Now, we conduct the battery tests with the Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with. This device’s 90Wh battery pack lasts for 13 hours and 3 minutes of Web browsing, or 11 hours and 20 minutes of video playback.
In order to simulate real-life conditions, we used our own script for automatic web browsing through over 70 websites.

For every test like this, we use the same video in HD.
