The screen is Full HD and from what we know so far, it uses a TN panel, instead of an IPS.

In terms of storage, the notebook will come with 128/256GB SSD (M.2) + HDD. The DVD drive isn’t ditched, despite the relatively thin profile for a gaming notebook – 30 mm. GL553 will have a 48Wh battery so we don’t expect great battery runtimes.

On the other hand, we are presented with the FX553 which comes with a latest generation Intel Core processor (most likely Core i5-7300HQ). This particular product has two modifications – FX553VD will sport a GTX 1050 and FX553VE will be equipped with GTX 1050 Ti.

Additionally, the machine provides you with a particularly designed keyboard with red backlighting which makes it look even more aggressive. The manufacturer notes that the key travel is 2.5mm allowing for comfortable gaming and typing experience. As far as RAM is concerned, you can have up to 32GB and make sure that your favorite games will not stutter.

ASUS ROG GL753 / FX753

We now move on to the 17-inch version of the aforementioned laptops, called GL753VD (GTX 1050), GL753VE (GTX 1050 Ti), FX753VD (GTX 1050) and FX753VE (GTX 1050 Ti). Starting with the ROG GL753 – a 17-inch gaming model that comes with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor in combination with a GTX 1050 (VD version) or GTX 1050 Ti (VE modification) GPU.

This is an entry-level gaming configuration with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD plus 1TB of HDD storage. Additionally, its 17.3-inch display offers Full HD resolution and glossy finish.

On the other hand, we are presented with the ASUS ROG FX753 which delivers power and style on the go, according to the manufacturer. It surely looks attractive but let’s spend some time reading into what it modifications have to offer.

As it was stated above, we are dealing with FX753VD (GTX 1050) and FX753VE (GTX 1050 Ti). Both of them come with a latest generation Intel Core processor and Windows 10. What’s more both of them feature the same keyboard with scissor-switch keys (2.5mm of key travel) and a bigger space bar.

As you may also see from the image on the right, the arrow keys are isolated which ensures comfortable playing of racing and other games. Another merit that the two variations feature is related to their cooling systems – ASUS Cooling Overboost. The manufacturer claims that the cooling design ensures maximum efficiency for all tasks you may engage in.

ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 M580 / N580

And so we move on to two other ASUS models for those who are looking for a new gaming/multimedia laptop – the ASUS M580VD (EB54 and EB76). We shall first like to discuss the EB54 version – a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with a 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ 2.5GHz (Turbo up to 3.5GHz), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB) and 8GB RAM. The screen is anti-glare with Full HD resolution and promises rich colors.

In terms of storage, the notebook will come with 256GB of SSD storage. Additionally, you are presented with a new long-lasting battery that can charge up to 60% for only 49 minutes.

On the other hand, there is the the EB76 version of this laptop which comes with powerful 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ 2.8GHz (Turbo up to 3.8GHz) processor. What’s more, this bad boy features NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4GB) and 16GB of RAM. We are again presented with a Full HD screen but this time there is a difference in the storage department. ASUS ROG FX502VD

Now let’s have a look at yet another promising ASUS ROG model. What we have in mind is the FX502VD – a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with Core i7-7700HQ processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 4GB of GDDR5 video memory and 8GB of RAM (upgrades are possible in this respect up to 16GB). The screen is a 15.6-incher with Full HD resolution.

Additionally, the laptop provides you with a pretty decent internal storage configuration that consists of a 5400 rpm 1TB HDD accompanied by a 128GB M.2 SSD. The manufacturer notes that the key travel is 1.6mm for comfortable experience when gaming. As far as OS is concerned, you receive Windows 10 Home (64-bit).

Let us now jump over to the realm of alien technologies with the new Alienware 13. It is a 13-inch gaming model that ships with either an Intel Core i5-7300HQ or a Core i7-7700HQ processor. Additionally, you can choose between a good number of GPUs – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2GB, GTX 1050 Ti 2GB (configurations with i5 CPUs), or GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (configurations with  i7 CPUs), and GTX 1060 6GB.

If you go for the last option, your Alienware 13 will be “VR-ready”. Among its most notable features you will find an option for a 1440p display (2560 x 1440p), Bluetooth 4.1, HD camera with IR detection, keyboard backlighting for even more out-of-this-world feel, as well as a 76WH battery. The combo with the available graphics card will inevitably result in more than appealing gaming experience. Furthermore, this bad boy comes with a 256GB of SSD storage ( depends on the configuration). Dell XPS 15

Now let us have a look at another 15-incher that we have already talked about a few weeks ago. The new XPS will make use of a Kaby Lake processor – i3-7100HQ, i5-7300HQ or i7-7700HQ. Additionally, the gaming notebook will ship with a GeForce GTX 1050 (up to 4GB VRAM). A combination that we are really eager to test, indeed.

Dell claims that this is the most powerful XPS laptop they’ve ever built and it seems there is a very good reason for that. What’s more, this model will come with a 15-inch Ultra HD display (3840×2160 pixels) to immerse you to a greater depth in the world of virtual reality. We can also note that you get this bad boy with a Windows 10 OS.

Dell Inspiron 5577

And so, let us have a quick look at two variants of the new Dell Inspiron 5577. As you may imagine, the main difference between them is in the computing department – the more affordable version sports a 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.5 GHz), whereas the slightly more powerful notebook comes with a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.8 GHz). Both laptops, on the other hand, come with the same GPU – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050.

In terms of storage, there are some differences which deserve a mention. Starting with the more affordable notebook – it will present you with 256GB of SSD storage. On the other hand, the i7-equipped machine comes with a configuration of 128GB SSD plus 1TB HDD. This will allow you to install a good number of programs on the SSD and keep a huge deal of pictures, movies, songs, etc. on your HDD.

As far as the other more notable specifications are concerned, both models come with 15,6-inch Full HD displays. Additionally, the two iterations have the same RAM capacity – 8GB. GIGABYTE Sabre 15

Now it is time to move on to two laptops GIGABYTE Sabre 15 models – the two differ chiefly in terms of graphics. The more affordable machine comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB), whereas the second iteration sports the 1050 Ti version with 4GB of VRAM. As far as all other specifications are concerned, the two bad boys are identical.

Both sport the same powerful 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor in combination with 16GB of RAM. This, taken together with the appealing GPUs promises more than intriguing performance for the latest games. 

In terms of storage, the two notebooks come with the same combo 256GB of SSD storage plus 1TB HDD. This will allow you to install a good number of programs on the SSD and keep a huge deal of pictures, movies, songs, etc. on your HDD. As for the display – both offer 15.6-inch Full HD displays. Not the greatest resolution but it is reasonable for these type of products which strive to achieve a good balance between price and performance.

Additionally, both models have high-quality keyboards with programmable illumination which makes them look really fancy. Last but not least, you get these machines with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.

GIGABYTE Sabre 17

And so, we must also have a look at the GIGABYTE Sabre 17 laptop which might be a very good option for the fans of 17-inchers. Among the most notable specs of this machine we notice the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4GB VRAM), accompanied by a 7th gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ  processor. That combination is undoubtedly going to make you happy with the ability to play various titles. Of course, such hardware allows you to even delve deeper into creative tasks such as video editing.

The basic configuration you could get is called HP Omen 15-ax200nc and its starting price in Europe is approximately 1249 EUR. If you go for it, you will get a 7th Gen Kaby Lake processor (i7-7700HQ) along with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4 GB GDDR5) and 8GB of RAM as well as 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display. As far as storage is concerned – you get 128GB of M.2 SSD storage and 1TB HDD.

Additionally, you may decide to go for the second possible configuration (15-ax201nc) which sells for approximately 1,330 EUR. For the additional amount of money you get improvements in several quite important aspects – RAM, storage and graphics card. This version comes with 16GB of RAM, a combo of 256GB M.2 PCIe SSD storage plus 1TB HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5).

HP Omen 15 (Mid- 2017)

HP hasted to make their fans happy with a Mid-2017 iteration of their HP Omen 15. We are talking about the HP Omen 15 (15-ce000) model, to be precise. It comes with revamped aggressive design language that simply screams “GAMING”. As it is expected, the dominant colors are black and red, and it must also be noted that the WASD keys are entirely red which makes the keyboard even fancier. Another interesting addition in terms of design is the centered hinge and more exquisite edges.

HP Pavilion 15 / 17 Gaming (2017)

The refreshed HP Pavilion 15 Gaming can come with either an Intel Core i5-7300HQ or an i7-7700HQ, depending on the configuration. Its fist three configurations also come with a Full HD IPS display, whereas the most expensive one – with a 4K IPS panel. Additionally, the first two configurations sport 8GB of RAM and the same storage combo (128 GB M.2 SSD + 1 TB HDD). On the other hand, the higher two configurations come with 16GB RAM and 256 GB M.2 SSD PCIe NVMe + 1 TB HDD. One thing that they all have in common is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4 GB GDDR5) GPU.

And as for the bigger brother, things are very similar. The first configuration features an Intel Core i5-7300HQ and the other two – an  i7-7700HQ. Additionally, the first two versions sport a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS displays and 128 GB M.2 SSD + 1 TB HDD storage combo, whereas the most expensive one has a 4K panel and 256 GB M.2 SSD PCIe NVMe + 1 TB HDD storage setup. RAM-wise, we have 8GB chips in the first two options and 16GB capacity in the third one. Just as it is the case with the 15-inch Pavilion, the 17-inchers all have in common the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (4 GB GDDR5) GPU.

HP Omen 17 (1050 / 1050 Ti)

This article can’t go without an offer such as the HP Omen 17. This pretty boy is offered in a really rich variety of configurations but we would like to only have a look at two particular versions. We are talking about the laptops that come with NVIDIA GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti graphics cards.

In terms of storage, the notebook with GTX 1050 offers a 2TB HDD. On the other hand, we have the 1050 Ti model which uses a 128GB SSD plus 1TB of HDD storage.

As far as displays are concerned, in the 1050 Ti model we are presented with a 17.3-inch Full HD display, whereas the 1050 model has a 17.3-inch 4K display.

HP Omen 17 (Mid-2017)

And so we jump over to another bigger brother in this series. We are talking about the 17.3-inch HP Omen (17-an000). As you might expect, it features the same design language as the smaller 15-inch version. Furthermore, the hardware components in this configuration are identical to the ones in the smaller unit.

Firstly, you get the same 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, again accompanied by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB dedicated graphics card. Now, let us have a quick look at this flexible fellow by Lenovo. We are talking about the Yoga 720 which sports NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card (2GB). In addition to it, you get a powerful 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor. This is not all, though, as you are presented with 16GB of RAM. Such a combo is bound to deliver pretty decent performance in the latest and greatest gaming titles.

Another marvelous feature that makes this laptop stand out is its display. Yes, we are dealing with a 15.6-inch UHD 4K IPS display! And it’s touch sensitive… Yeah, this ultrabook is a real jewel that many would like to have. Of course, the device’s 360° flip-and-fold design is another great merit that allows for convenience in many situations.

In terms of storage, you get 512GB of SSD storage. Additionally, we do have to note that this bad boy features a fingerprint scanner which helps you keep your personal information safe. What’s even more, this ultrabook supports the Thunderbolt standard.

Additionally, the model has a keyboard with backlight which makes it look really fancy. Last but not least, you get this machine with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.

Microsoft Surface Book 2 (13.5″)

Next on the list is the beautiful Microsoft Surface Book 2 (13.5″). This attractive bad boy features an Intel Core i5-7300U or Intel Core i7-8650U processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (2GB GDDR5) or Intel HD Graphics 620. Additionally, you are presented with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1000GB SSD and up to 17 hours of battery life. We are pretty okay with this combo which should deliver not only smooth multitasking but also fast loading of heavy software applications as well as reasonable endurance.

To ensure a fulfilling gaming experience, Microsoft Surface Book 2 (13.5″) comes with a 13.5-inch display with 3K (3000 x 2000 p) resolution and an IPS panel. What is more, this model is truly impressive because it fits all these neat features in a construction which weighs only 1.53 kg. Another really pleasant peculiarity is the backlit keyboard that will ease your work in darker environments and the available USB Type C port.

Now, here we are presented with a slightly different situation. MSI have come up with a large number of new models with the NVIDIA  GeForce 1050/ 1050 Ti. They can be divided in two main categories – those from their gaming series and the ones from their prestige lineup. The latter come with only the NVIDIA  GeForce 1050 GPU model, whereas the former ship with both versions of the graphics card.

In our focus, however, will be the gaming models. If you go to MSI’s website, you will notice how the models using the 1050 Ti GPU carry a “Pro” ending in their name. Thus, you will be presented with Apache, Leopard and Stealth variations – “pro-s” and those who come without this ending.

Additionally, these models have two screen size options – 15.6″ and 17″. The machines which come with a “62” or “63” in their name use the smaller display option, whereas those with “72” or “73” in their names come with a 17-inch panel. Alright, we come to a conclusion. A really pleasant conclusion, we must confess. This is considered by some as one of the jewels in the crown of CES 2017. We are talking about a 15-inch gaming notebook which immediately attracts one’s eyes with unusual touchpad design and good-looking keyboard (its keys have particular ergonomic shapes for more comfortable use). It weighs around 2.5 kg which is good for a 15-inch gaming laptop.

You won’t be surprised to learn that this machine also uses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. It also comes with a Full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels) which has an anti-glare finish and offers 280 nits of brightness. We must also not forget that the Odyssey 15 will offer an Intel Kaby Lake Core i7 processor (quad-core 45W). With such chips (CPU and GPU) you are bound to get more than a decent gaming performance.
