HP Envy x360 15 (15-fe0000) review – Unleashing the Hidden Color Accuracy Capabilities of This 2-in-1 Laptop

    Disassembly, Upgrade options, and Maintenance

To gain access to the internals of this laptop, you have to undo just 4 Torx-head screws. Then, pry the bottom panel with a thin plastic tool starting from one of the top two corners. After that, fully pop the back and work your way around the sides and the front.

Here’s how the bottom plate looks on the inside.

This notebook has a 55Wh battery.  Since the connector is built into the unit you should wear gloves before removing it to avoid short circuits. Undo the four Phillips-head screws that keep the unit fixed to the chassis.

The memory is soldered. You get 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5-5200 MHz RAM in dual-channel mode. We can have a sneak peek at the four modules because they are covered by a metal plate that can be popped with a lever tool. Storage-wise, you can rely on just one M.2 slot for 2280 Gen 4 SSDs. The NVMe drive is protected by a metal cover that is held in place by two Phillips-head screws. There is a long thermal pad on the inside of the metal shroud.

The cooling here has one fan and interestingly, there is a rubber fan housing next to it.

The rest look standard – a thick long heat pipe, one sizable top-mounted heat sink, and a heat spreader.
